2021-22  Student Council Officers & Important Dates to Remember

Cottage Hill Cubs - STUDENT COUNCIL


Representatives and Officers must be willing to give up their lunch period the last Monday of each month in order to serve as a member of Student Council. 


PRESIDENT – The President leads the meetings and is in charge of all the other offices.  The President is an official representative of Cottage Hill Elementary School.


VICE PRESIDENT – The Vice President is the assistant to the president and will take over if the President is not present.  The Vice President is an official representative of Cottage Hill Elementary School.


SECRETARY – Two (2) secretaries will be elected.  They are responsible for taking notes at all student council meetings.  The Secretaries are official representatives of Cottage Hill Elementary School.


BUSINESS MANAGER – The Business Manager is responsible for keeping accurate records of money earned and spent by the Student Council.  The Business Manager is an official representative of Cottage Hill Elementary School.


SERGEANT AT ARMS – Two (2) Sergeant at Arms will be elected to keep order at the meeting.  The Sergeant at Arms will lead the flag salute at all official functions and present the daily flag salute for all students each morning.  Sergeant at Arms are official representatives of Cottage Hill Elementary School.


HISTORIANS – Two (2) Historians will be elected.  They will photograph special events and assist in the preparation of a yearbook of the current school year.  Historians are official representatives of Cottage Hill Elementary School.


GRADE LEVEL REPRESENTATIVES – Two (2) Grade Level Representatives from each class will be elected/selected.  They will attend monthly student council meetings and speak on behalf of their classroom and grade level.  Grade Level Representatives are official representatives of Cottage Hill Elementary School.

 

Monday, October 11th, 2021 – Introduction Assembly-  Letters of intent to run for office will be made available to your homeroom teachers, in the front office, room 5, and on the student council website.


Monday, October 25th, 2021– Letters of intent are due. Please return to the front office or your homeroom teacher.  They need to be signed by your parents and teachers.


Tuesday, October 26th, 2021- Copy of speech/slides due to Mrs. Flemmer by 5pm. (Please email to [email protected]


Thursday, October 29th (by 9pm) – Share your campaign video, with speech or slides (NO MORE THAN 1 MINUTE, and must be approved by Mrs. Flemmer). Email your video presentation to Mrs. Flemmer at [email protected]

Videos will be shown to all 4th and 5th grade students on Monday, November 1, 2021.


Tuesday, November 2rd, 2021 – 4rd - 5th Grade GENERAL ELECTION. Vote for officers via ballot.  Elected officers announced on November 4th the end of classes. 


Monday, November 15th, 2021 - Officers Meeting at Noon in room 5


Monday, November 29th, 2021 - FIRST STUDENT COUNCIL MEETING at NOON in room 5.
