Welcome to the week of October 7th. This is Parent Teacher Conferences Week. Each day is a Minimum Day with students released at 12:00. We will eat lunch beginning at 11:05, so you might want to consider this when packing lunch and snack this week. We will begin Groups on Monday and Wednesday at 9:50. I have Menth and Neeb on Monday and Osborne, Russell and Eggeman on Wednesday. Let me know if that still works for all of you. We will have a Fire Safety Week Presentation on Tuesday and again on Wednesday, we will have a special presentation for just our class. I will let you know if we have Math homework. With so much going on and such short days, it is unlikely!
As the weather changes to cool mornings and warm afternoons, please make sure your student’s sweatshirts or jackets are labeled with their name. There are so many sweatshirts left each day, without a name, it is difficult for students to identify theirs.
We do not have a homework packet this week since we have minimum days. We will still have one reading job each night.
We are continuing our Unit Shoot for the Sun, focusing on living and non-living things. We will concentrate on Spelling words with double final consanants and –ck, -ng endings. Our Spelling test will be on Friday.
Please help to donate Cans for the Kids Can Food Drive. All of the food collected will be distributed locally. We will add it to the Can Count on the board in class!
Please donate bags of candy for our Family Fun night! It will be given out to children on the night of the event.
Looking ahead:
10/8- Board Meeting @ District Office 5:30
10/14 to 10/18- Book Fair
10/15- Picture Make-Up Day
10/18- Fall Family Fun Night 5:30
10/31- Halloween Parade 8:30 am
Dear Parents,
Welcome to the week of September 2nd. I hope you all had an enjoyable long weekend.
Our sight words for the week are:
do, then, what, with, you, and your
Please help your student practice these words at home. We continue our Unit 1: My Family. This week we will introduce the concept that we can share the world and can be like family to those all around the world. We will review letter sounds for
f, n, l, p, and c.
In Math, we continue with our Unit 1: Addition Concepts with the essential question being: How can you model adding within 10. You should see homework for Lesson 1.4-1.7 in the folders. Please help your student to complete and return the following day.
We will begin volunteers on the week of September 9th. I will be contacting everyone who expressed an interest in helping in our classroom.
We will have our first Hands-on-Science lesson next Monday.
Thanks for all you do,
Mrs. Sypnicki
