Field Trip Next Week!

As we head into our last full week of school I wanted to remind everyone that our very last day will be spent on a field trip to Wester Gateway Park on Tuesday, May 23rd for the Caterpillar class and Wednesday, May 24th for the Butterfly class ( that's next week). Please be sure to bring in your paperwork so I can account for who is riding the bus with us and who will be meeting us at the park. If your child is riding the bus to the park they can show up at our regular time and we will depart school at 9 am.... arriving at the park by about 9:30 am. Should you want to drive your child and meet us there it is my hope again that we arrive about 9:30 am.
*For the park event, I am hoping our shirts arrive in time so we can all match, We will play at the park, play with our parachutes and maybe some bubbles, have a snack break, and even put on a little performance for you before we say goodbye for summer. Please be sure to provide your child and yourself if attending a snack, plenty of water. and a blanket to have your picnic on. I recommend sunscreen and tennis shoes as we will be out in the sun having fun!

Mark your Calendars for Kindergarten

Hello Parents of TK and Kindergarten,
This message is for you! If your child is attending Tk or Kindergarten next year 2023-2024 you will need to attend the Round-up event held next week on Tuesday, April 18th at 6:30 pm. This meeting is a parent-only meeting and will review all things you need to know as your child heads toward kindergarten. It is also important to be on time if not early as you will NEED to sign your child up for an assessment time slot. ( I believe they place a signup sheet on one of the tables as you enter the meeting) The assessment day is only being held on April 20th at this point and all students must be assessed for Kindergarten.

Preschool Remonder

Hello Families,
I wanted to remind everyone that next week April 3rd thru 7th is Spring Break and school will not be in session. I hope you all have a wonderful time hopefully in the sun and a great holiday. Preschool resumes on Monday, April 10th, and will run until Wednesday, May 24th. Again, I hope you all have an amazing week off. Also do not forget to mark your calendars for Tk/Kindergarten Roundup parent night on April 18th from 6:30-7:30 pm. You will sign up for your child's assessment that night. Also, returning Preschool enrolment will occur at the end of April, and new student registrations will begin May 1st if you know anyone interested.
Smiles,
Mrs. Mertens

Preschool News

Hello All,
As of today, everyone should have received the upcoming Scholastic Book Order form. The turnaround time will be short in the hopes of receiving the books before our holiday break as they make great stocking stuffers! Just remember to order online thru Scholastic Books and use our classroom code "NHJ2J" by December 7th.
You should also have received your child's invitation to go shopping at the "Mistletoe Mall" Event put on by our wonderful P.T.C. at this event students are able to shop (with an adult elf) for their loved ones at incredibly cheap prices so they can share in the joy of giving. Please be sure to return those forms as soon as possible as our shopping days are set the 3yr class will shop on Thursday, Dec 8th and the 4yr class will shop on Friday, Dec 9th during our school time.
Also, I am waiting to hear back from the gymnastics place in regards to setting the date for our 2nd field trip as Friday, January 13th. I am hoping to have the paperwork out to parents before the holiday break with all the details.
Smiles,
Mrs. Mertens

Field Trip Countdown!

Hello Preschool Friends,
With just 2 days until our trip, I wanted to send out reminders.
1st- Our location for the trip is 17473 Lower Colfax Road. Grass Valley, Ca, 95945
2nd- If you're meeting us there please arrive between 9:30 am-9:40 am as we begin at 9:45 am near the front entrance area.
3rd- If you are riding with us then come at NORMAL drop-off time as we will play in class a bit, take a potty break and then head to board the about 8:45 am to depart at about 9 am. from the front of the school.
4th-Don't forget this is a real farm so you will want to dress appropriately and with the current weather you may want to put your child's hair up in a ponytail so they don't get too hot.
5th- Students do NOT need a backpack or snack for the trip. The only students who should come with a lunch bag are those staying after the field trip until 2 pm in which case they will need to eat lunch.
6th- Speaking of backpacks PARENTS you may want to bring a backpack to help store your child's pumpkin as they get rather heavy for our students after a full day of fun. Also, I recommend bringing water and a snack for yourself as the day can feel long.
7th- And most importantly get ready for a fun day!
Smiles,
Mrs. Mertens
