Cottage Hill's final packet pick up will be Monday, May 11th between 9-1.  The teachers will be curbside from 9-11, hoping to have a chance to wave and smile at their students as we pass packets through the window!  We encourage you to bring the kids, but everyone needs to stay in the car.  Packets and personal belongings not picked up by 1:00 will be kept at Cottage Hill (not moved to the DO this time).  The office will also be open on Tuesdays from 8-2.
These special gifts were picked up by the teachers today.  A “Thank You” from the PTC, and ultimately all the families of Cottage Hill, paid for by your fundraised money/donations.  Tomorrow is the final day of Teacher Appreciation Week which will be “the classroom collaborative gift.”  Hopefully you had a chance to participate in some way this week that was quick, easy and fun.

It sounds weird to state that even though school is not in session on campus, the PTC is still meeting, planning and dreaming up some really fun ways to support students and teachers on campus when we return to school.  One of the first events we are turning our focus to is a HUGE “Welcome Back” event and we need your input and help to put it together.  Join us via Zoom this upcoming Wednesday, May 13th at 12:30pm.  We welcome all parents/guardians to attend.  If you are interested, please comment below and we will contact you personally.
Teacher Appreciation Week Continues!

Any day this week, make a poster of appreciation for your teacher and hold it up when you sign on at the beginning of your teleconference call.  The brighter the better!
Today is ‘Social Shout Out Tuesday’ of Teacher Appreciation Week.  Post here/below on the Cottage Hill PTC Facebook page about what you like most about your teacher and tag their name in the post (include a pic if you have one).  Many of the teachers follow our page and it takes less than a minute to brighten their day and “blow up” their e-mail inbox with positive messages.  Let’s show them the love! +=
Hello Cottage Hill Families!
Monday is the first day of Teacher Appreciation Week.  If you’ve got the time, please send your teacher some “love in the mail.”  A letter, card, or piece of artwork with a short message to your teacher telling him/her what your student/family appreciates or finds special about them. This activity can be made more fun by taking turns writing the words or sentences out.  Maybe even change the color of the pen/pencil/crayon as you write.  Your teacher will love seeing the collaborative effort.  Send your note in the mail to your teacher in care of:
Cottage Hill Elementary School

Please see this exciting and very sweet message from our PTC:

Hello Cottage Hill Families,

So many aspects of this school year have been unexpected, unpredictable and uncommon. However, our teachers’ commitment to the students has not wavered.  The Parent Teacher Club will continue with the annual tradition of honoring the teaching staff with “Teacher Appreciation Week” next week, May 4-8th.  Here are the week’s events, choose one or all, your participation is of course optional and much appreciated.

Monday, May 4th: Write a letter of thanks to your teacher in care of Cottage Hill School, 22600 Kingston Lane, Grass Valley, CA 95949 and the pop it in the mailbox so they receive it by Thursday.

Tuesday, May 5th: Social Media Shout Out- post your favorite pic of your beloved teacher to the PTC fb page (https://www.facebook.com/CottageHillPTC) and tag your teacher.  Tell everyone how your teacher has made your student(s) feel special or support them with their learning.

Any day this week: Make a sign expressing your love for your teacher and show it off when you dial in for your weekly Zoom teleconference meeting.

Thursday, May 7th:  The PTC will be have special bags in the teacher lounge for every certificated teacher, stuffed with goodies and a gift card for Panera so that they may order a drive-through or curb-side pick-up lunch at their convenience.  Teachers will also be instructed to check their boxes for letters from students.

Friday, May 8th:  Classroom group gift, to be determined and organized by classroom parent.
You can still register for Kindergarten/TK by going to the school web page and clicking ENROLL NOW. If you are enrolling for TK, please select the Kindergarten option (they are considered part of the same program). If your child is currently in TK, you do NOT need to enroll in K. Your child will automatically "roll up" and we will just ask you to update your information later in the summer. If you prefer, you can pick up a paper enrollment packet in the district office. Preschool applications must be picked up/dropped off at the District Office.
Cottage Hill Virtual Book Fair is on now!  Go to Published Homepage  to see the entire selection of Scholastic Books that are available.   You can order books until April 30 and they will be sent directly to your home.  Stock up for summer reading now!
Skylor and Sierra are working on collages together.  This is Skylor's assignment, but Sierra wanted to make one of her own!  At packet pick up day this week I heard so many parents say that their kids are getting along better than they usually do...   Maybe when our friendship options are limited we start to value the people around us more?

If you did not pick up your distance learning packet, it is now available at the District Office.  If your child's personal items were handed out this week but you did not pick them up, they will be available at the next/last pick up day on May 11th.
Callie and Ryan are taking a break from their distance learning and walking their goats, enjoying the sunshine!  Don't forget to make time for exercise breaks and play during your day!
