What will happen:
  • Every evening, you will receive an email with any updates from your subscribed pages.

  • If you have 3 children from either Cottage Hill or Magnolia AND you have subscribed to the school and teacher pages, you will receive one email that contains all of the updates.   The goal is to make communication easy for our parents as they could be getting information from two schools and 5 teachers, all in one concise email.

Tonight is TK/Kindergarten Round Up!
6:30 in the MPR
 
Tonight is a parent information night and an opportunity to pick up an enrollment packet for next year. Also, parents will be signing up for an assessment time for tomorrow; a chance for our teachers to meet your child and get a feel for their Kindergarten readiness skills.

Be an Agent of Change: Encourage Smiles
 
The position of PTC Secretary is open for the 2019-2020 school year.  Nominations will be heard at the next PTC meeting, this upcoming Wednesday, March 13th at 12:30p (Rm. 17) and elections/voting will take place at the April 10th PTC meeting, 12:30p (Rm. 17).  Here is what PTC Secretary does:
 
Secretary responsibilities include attending monthly PTC board and general meetings. During the general meetings the Secretary takes notes including committee activities and votes. The Secretary then supplies copies of finalized notes to the front office and files a copy in the PTC minutes binder.

The position of PTC Treasurer is open for the 2019-2020 school year.  Nominations will be heard at the next PTC meeting, this upcoming Wednesday, March 13th at 12:30p (Rm. 17) and elections/voting will take place at the April 10th PTC meeting, 12:30p (Rm. 17).  Here is what PTC Treasurer does:
 
Takes in and records money transactions for the group.  Writes and issues checks of reimbursement to members for costs incurred for supplies for activities (I.e. t-shirts, line item budgets) as well as requests for payments ahead of time (I.e. assemblies).  Completes financial paperwork required by the district on behalf of the group. Makes deposits of money to the bank for the group.  Attends monthly board meetings one hour before general meeting.  Attends the four District PTC meetings per year.
***The PTC is in dire need of this position to be filled to continue to operate this next scholastic year***

Here is what PTC Vice President does:
Chief communicator of the group(makes announcements for meetings and events).  Steps in for the president when needed. Attends and/or supports most events. Attends monthly board meetings one hour before the general PTC meeting.  Attends the four District PTC meetings per year.
Tomorrow is picture day!!  Only those students who have a picture envelope with payment will be having their pictures taken.  This is a change from last year when we had all children photographed and then requested either payment or pictures be returned to school.  There is no make up day for spring pictures.

The position of PTC President is open for the 2019-2020 school year. Nominations will be heard at the PTC meeting on March 13th at 12:30 pm (Rm. 17) and elections/voting will take place at the April 10th PTC meeting, 12:30 pm (Rm. 17).  What does the PTC President do?  I’m glad you asked!
 
The PTC President is the facilitator of monthly PTC meetings.  This person is the primary contact and representative of the group.  The president attends/supports most of the PTC events and attends monthly board meetings one hour before the general meeting.  The president attends the four district PTC meetings per year.  
 
“This position is perfect for the person who wants to be in the middle of it all and has the ‘insider knowledge and influence’ of all PTC events.  There are many, many positive aspects of being the PTC President that I have enjoyed this past year.  In addition to the joyful interactions I’ve had with our current PTC membership, the best part about being the president is witnessing all the enjoyment PTC events bring to the students and staff at Cottage Hill and knowing I had part in it.” -Edie Kodet”
Spring Pictures are next week!
 
March 6th is Spring Picture Day!  Picture $ envelopes will be going home tomorrow (Thursday).  If you want your child to be photographed, please return the envelope with payment on that day.  Only those children that have an envelope with payment attached will be photographed...  This is a change from last year.

Okay, you’re right we tweaked the lyrics a “little bit” but you get the point.  The Parent Teacher Club is announcing the opening of all four board member positions for the 2019-2020 school year.  Elections will be held at the general meeting on April 10th 2019 in Room 17.  The nomination of yourself or a trusted friend may be submitted at the March 13th PTC meeting or via e-mail to [email protected] (anytime between now and the April meeting).  Over the next few weeks posts will be sent out with a bit of information regarding each board member’s position and some personal insight from the current member.  Keep your eyes and hearts open to an excellent opportunity to give time to the hard-working staff and fun-loving students at Cottage Hill Elementary School.
It’s here!  It’s here! This Saturday, Magnolia PTM fundraiser at Moonraker.  No ticket or admission fee to attend, just show up!  Event starts at 5:00pm.  All proceeds go to Magnolia Intermediate School programs:  Supplies and equipment for core classes (English, Math, Science, Social Studies, P.E.) and our elective classes (athletics, theatrical arts, music, technology/robotics, woodworking, career choices, Spanish).  Come and make a contribution to your student’s future school.  Eat, drink, and be merry with your friends.  Bid and take home a basket full of awesome gifts.
