About Mrs. McCutcheon

I have been teaching at Cottage Hill for over 20 years and taught 2 years before that in the Sacramento area.

Although born in San Diego, I spent my early childhood in Guam and Taiwan. We returned to the States before high school and I earned my teaching credential at Sacramento State.

My hobbies include crafts, woodworking, painting, cooking, reading, gardening, and especially travel. I have been fortunate enough to visit Germany, Austria, the Czech Republic, Italy, Canada, Hawaii and other parts of the U.S., Mexico, the Dominican Republic and Costa Rica with various members of my family.

I love everything to do with the ocean and try to visit it with whenever possible. I have crossed off 2 “bucket list” items by swimming with wild dolphins and sea turtles. I also swam with a hammerhead shark in the open ocean, but not on purpose! I try to bring my love of animals and the ocean into the classroom and enjoy introducing children to aspects of different cultures.

My husband Brian and I live on 12 acres nearby with various farm animals including: cows, donkeys, pigs, chickens, dogs, cats, and a horse. We also have orchards, a vineyard, and a garden.

I look forward to sharing my enthusiasm for learning with all my students!
