Meet Your Teacher

Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Teryn Elkins, and I am so excited to meet you and your student. Allow me to tell you a little bit about myself. 

 

While this is my first year teaching at Cottage Hill, this is my fifth year teaching. Last year, I taught kindergarten at Alta Sierra, and the three years before that were spent teaching kindergarten at Sierra Hills Elementary in Meadow Vista. Before my time as a kindergarten teacher, I worked as a substitute teacher in multiple school districts throughout Placer County, and taught everything from TK to 5th grade.

 

I currently live in Loomis with my husband and two children. My son Noah is 4 years old, and my son Micah is 20 months old. An extremely lazy cat and two spastic backyard ducks complete our crazy household.

 

I am so excited to move up to first grade this year. As a previous kindergarten teacher, I know exactly what students are coming in knowing, and I can't wait for the unique opportunity to build off a foundation I know very well. 

 

I'm looking forward to meeting you and your student! 

 

FUN FACTS:

  • I married my high school sweet heart.

  • I worked at Starbucks throughout college and my teaching credential program.

  • I love to garden, and my favorite animal is a honeybee. 

  • I am a self-taught water color artist.

  • I hope to one day write and illustrate a children's book.
