Sierra Harvest volunteers will be providing samples of local citrus from Sunset Ridge Fine Fruits, an organic farm located in Newcastle. Cottage Hill is one of 25 schools in Nevada County that will be participating in a tasting of "Cara Cara" and "Blood Orange" varieties. This fruit will also be included in the school lunch menu that day.

Attention 4th and 5th grade band families! The 4th and 5th grade band will be having their first band concert next week on Thursday, January 19 at 6:00pm in the Magnolia Multi-Purpose Room. The call time for band members is 5:15pm.
The dress rehearsal will be during the regular band time on that Thursday (so all band members should attend...not just the brass students).
Mr. Richardson will discuss proper dress with the students during band.

After the torrential downpours of the past few days, the mudslides, downed trees, electricity outages, and flooding made it unsafe for many of our students to come to school on Wednesday (via bus or traditional means).
After touring the district's boundaries mid-morning on Wednesday, we have determined that we will be safe to resume school at all three sites on Thursday. While we recognize that many families are still without power, the school sites' electricity has been unharmed and the sites are safe for students to return.
