A big thank you to all the parents who participate in the Original Works Art fundraisers the PTC organizes in the fall and spring seasons.  Not only are you gaining great quality gift items with your student(s) beautiful artwork, but you are boosting your student's confidence in their artist skills and supporting our school.  Proceeds from last year’s fundraisers were used to purchase art supplies for the Art Docent Program.  During the summer, PTC members unpacked and sorted approximately $1400.00 worth of art supplies to be stored in the STEAM Lab.

The volunteers of the Parent Teacher Club consider art to be a crucial component of every Cottage Hill student's educational experience.  If you agree and would love to get your hands on these supplies and guide young minds towards learning how to express themselves through art please consider becoming an art docent for this upcoming school year.  The time commitment is minimal (1 hour per month) and the return is priceless.

For more information please contact PTC President Edie Kodet:

For Art Docent or any other PTC volunteer position, please join us at the first PTC meeting of the school year tomorrowWednesday, August 22nd, at 12:30pm in Room 17.
The "Welcome Back Teacher/Staff Luncheon" (sponsored by parents, organized by the PTC) went off beautifully yesterday afternoon!  The teachers and support staff were treated to a variety of sandwich fixings, salads, fresh fruit, chips and desserts.  The guests of honor were so thankful and appreciative of this simple gesture, and it was a pleasure to watch them enjoy it all together.  The great feelings that volunteering evokes cannot be substituted, come and get your "fix" at the first Parent Teacher Club meeting this upcoming Wednesday, August 22, at 12:30pm in room 17.
Class Assignment Night is Tuesday, August 14th.  Come by between 4:00-5:30 to see class lists, check in with friends, and enjoy some sweat treats provided by our PTC!
"Volunteers do not necessarily have the time; they just have the heart."-Elizabeth Andrew

The first day of school is just around the corner and the Parent Teacher Club (PTC) is looking forward to getting back together to share ideas, be creative and invest time in the interest of the students and staff at Cottage Hill Elementary School.  The very first opportunity of the year to give "...time and heart" is the "Welcome Back Teacher Luncheon" on Tuesday, August 14th.  This lunch is organized by the PTC but made possible by your generous donation(s) of food.  The PTC values all contributions and thanks you in advance for your assistance in treating our teachers and support staff to a free and nourishing meal.  Click on the link below to sign-up:

GOT YEARBOOKS???

The 2017-1018 Yearbooks have arrived and it's not too late to get one!

Yearbooks can be purchased in the office for $20 cash.  They will be set aside with your student's name, and passed out when the rest of the class gets theirs on June 4th.
What does the Parent Teacher Club do?

The Cottage Hill PTC is a responsive and flexible council of members that listens to both teacher and parent input.  At a recent meeting, for example, a teacher asked how their classroom would benefit from Jog-A-Thon fundraising given they don't use Chrome Books in their classrooms, and the PTC responded!

This picture shows Kinder classes enjoying and learning using headphones and a portable CD player purchased for their benefit with money fundraised by the PTC.  Our TK classes are enjoying magnetic building blocks as well!

This money was  contributed by parents like YOU.  Curious about how surplus money from this year will spent?  What about the budget for the upcoming school year?  Join us for a special PTC meeting on Wednesday June 6th at 12:30pm in room 17.
"A heartfelt THANK YOU to all the hands who helped purchase and provide food for the Teacher Appreciation Luncheon last week.  As you can see, the event came off beautifully and the teachers and support staff were so grateful and happy to be treated to such a lovely lunch.  The weather was fantastic and we had so many helping hands that it really pulled together with ease.  The Parent Teacher Club would also like to thank and recognize Brooke Poletti, Massage Therapist and owner of Ritual Therapeutics Massage & Bodywork, 11990 Kemper Rd., Ste. 204, Auburn.  Ms. Poletti generously provided discounted massage experiences for all the teachers, paid for by the PTC.  Please contact Brooke if you're in need of a massage."
