What will happen:
  • Every evening, you will receive an email with any updates from your subscribed pages.

  • If you have 3 children from either Cottage Hill or Magnolia AND you have subscribed to the school and teacher pages, you will receive one email that contains all of the updates.   The goal is to make communication easy for our parents as they could be getting information from two schools and 5 teachers, all in one concise email.

The Cottage Hill Parent Teacher Club cordially invites you to an adult night out, a “spring fling,” Friday, May 18th, 6-8 pm at Moonraker Brewing Co. in Auburn.  The spring fling is a FREE social event to foster connections with existing members and newly interested parents, to inform about the events PTC runs on campus, and most of all FUN!  Light snacks will be provided and raffle tickets issued to all who attend (prizes will be awarded and may be redeemed that evening).  Please consider meeting up with us for a short time and then make the rest of the night a date night, girls night out, etc...”The Dive” food truck will be there dishing out their delectable burgers and fries and of course delicious Moonraker Beer will be available for purchase.  Please join us!

Saturday is the clothing donation drop off in the CH front parking lot...  This will be the last day to donate clothing this year.  Anything left in Lost and Found will also be donated, so please be sure to check the Lost and Found before tomorrow afternoon!

Our Teachers and Staff go above and beyond to help our children succeed.  It's time to show them how much we appreciate all their efforts! 

May 8th – 11th is Teacher Appreciation Week! The PTC is asking for your participation in next week's events.

Cottage Hill Clothing Drive

Support Cottage Hill Elementary School and Go Green!
 
Our school is teaming up with California Clothing Recyclers to raise funds in an environmentally friendly way. All items will be sent to developing countries to be re-used or re-cycled. Please clean out your closets and donate the following items to our fundraiser:
 
Gently used clothing, shoes, linens, towels, hats, belts, purses and stuffed animals-No pillows please.
 
Cottage Hill is paid per pound for the items donated!
 
On Saturday, May 5th please bring items in neatly tied plastic bags to Cottage Hill Elementary School between 
10am-12pm

The PTC is excited to share some wonderful news about our school garden.  One of our members, Sheena West, submitted a grant proposal on behalf of our school to the Raley's Extra Credit program for money to improve our school garden site and it was SUCCESSFUL!  Thanks to Sheena's dedication of a few hours over winter break, our organization will receive approximately $4,800.00 for structural and material improvements.  The PTC wishes to thank Sheena for her time and good intent on the behalf of our students and staff that is sure to be evident for years to come evidenced by the by the fun, health and inspiration a vibrant and thriving garden can provide. 
Is the garden renovation a project you’re interested in?  Please come to the next PTC meeting on May 9th at 12:30pm in Room 17.
Open House is Thursday Night!!
 
Please join us for our annual Open House this Thursday, April 12, from 6:30-7:30.  This is an opportunity for your child to show you their great accomplishments and share their successes with you.  Don't forget to stop by the MPR for the Art Walk and visit the Book Fair, too!
Preschool registration for 3 and 4 year olds begins on Monday, April 9th in the school office. 
 
Registration packets will not be available in advance.  Packets can be picked up in the Multi-Purpose Room beginning at 7:30.  Once you pick up your packet, you will be able to complete your paperwork at one of the tables nearby.  Your packet may only be turned it when it is complete; the emergency card and other forms must be completely filled out and a copy of the birth certificate and immunization records must be included.  Only complete packets will be accepted and placed on the list.
 
Students in the three year old class need to be 3 by September 1st; students in the 4 year old class need to be 4 by September 1st.  All students need to be potty-trained before school starts. 
 
We accept 18 students in the 3 year old class and 20 in the 4 year old class.  Beyond that number, we will place students on a waiting list. 
 
We are very happy that our preschool program is so popular!  If you are planning on enrolling your child, we encourage you to come on the 9th!
“n one week’s time the April Parent Teacher Club will be meeting to talk and act on some very exciting and important topics.  Some of the items on the agenda include board member elections, Teacher Appreciation Week and some very exciting news for the garden.  Get in on what’s happening on campus at the source.  Please join us on Wednesday, April 11th at 12:30pm in Room 17.
 
While we have your attention, please consider volunteering your time to help out at the Book Fair, happening every day next week.  It’s a simple task that brings so much joy to our students.  Sign up at:

In response to recent concerns regarding school safety, we will be holding a South County School Safety Forum on Monday, May 7th from 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. at the Bear River High School theater.
 
We will have representation from:

· Nevada County Sheriff’s Office
· California Highway Patrol
· Higgins Fire Department
· Nevada County Office of Emergency Services
· Nevada County Superintendent of Schools Office
· South County School Administrators
 
We invite all parents and community members to attend. You will learn about what plans and procedures are in place to ensure the safety of our students, and what you can/should do in the case of a school emergency.
