Packs for Paradise

Cottage Hill students, staff, parents, Student Council, and PTC are coordinating efforts to help children who are displaced as a result of the Camp Fire in Paradise, California.  We are working with Wilson Elementary School in Gridley, sending backpacks with supplies and comfort items to be distributed to the children in need.  If you would like to help, please check the attached file for details.  Thank you!!
Hello Families!
Monday is Veteran's Day, and school will be closed.  To all our PRSD military families, we are grateful for your dedication to our country!
Next Friday is the last day of the first trimester, and we have a minimum day so that teachers can begin preparing report cards.  Students will be dismissed at 12:00.  We do have afterschool rec.
All late work needs to be turned in by Friday, November 16.  Report cards will go home with students on November 29th.
Next Friday is also PAJAMA DAY!  All students may wear their school appropriate PJ's to school to show school spirit!
The November PTC meeting will take place next Wednesday, November 14th.  We have so many things to be thankful for, primarily our generous support from Cottage Hill families.  Fall Family Fun Night was attended by nearly 450 children and their families. The recent Box Tops collection drive brought in approximately $535.00 collectively for teachers to spend once it is redeemed (monies vary per class and dependent upon amount collected).
Many of you reading this message are members of the PTC and have donated hours or minutes of your time to aid these and other programs, and we are so grateful for any amount of service and absolutely open to welcome newly interested parents to the group.  If you’ve ever wanted to give some time to the school, the PTC is a positive and supportive group to join at any time of the year.  A position that is crucial to our success and a premier member of the executive board is the PTC Treasurer.  If the thought of balancing rows of numbers on a spreadsheet thrills you beyond words, please come to the meeting next week and inquire, we’d love to meet you!
Yearning to smell chimney smoke in the crisp air, watch lights reflected in your child’s eyes and drink egg nog?  The holidays are around the corner and Mistletoe Mall will be one of the focuses for the next two meetings; get in on this wonderful school-wide event that the children and volunteers adore.
We’ll see you next Wednesday at 12:30pm, in Room 17.
Did You Know???  Art wear may be ordered year round from home by submitting artwork to:       School code: COTT “
The Halloween Parade is tomorrow at 8:30 on the playground!  Parents are invited to attend!!
Students may wear costumes of their choice, but no MASKS, WEAPONS, or BLOOD.   Face paint is a great alternative!
Hi families! Just a friendly reminder that your Artware order forms are due this week no later than Thursday, November 1st. Please submit the order forms along with your child's artwork in the envelope provided to your child's teacher. Thank you so much!
Thank you to our SUPER PTC parents and all the volunteers who helped make this year's Fall Family Fun Night the best ever!  The Coco themed haunted house was amazing, and the whole night was fun and family-friendly!  So many families turned out for this event, and it was great to see everyone enjoying themselves!
Just in case you missed the memo...  next week is Fall Break!  The school office will be closed as well.  Have a wonderful week, and we'll see you on Monday, October 29th!
No need to cook dinner this Friday night! Woohoo! There will be food to purchase at the Fall Family Fun Night to support the BR Odyssey of the Mind Club. Please give them your support.
Make Up/Retake Picture Day and 4 Year Old Pictures will be taken on Wednesday, October 17 in the morning.
If you want your pictures re-taken, please bring the original picture package back to school and turn it in to your teacher.  Photos will be retaken at no charge.  If you would like to attach a note detailing why the pictures were not right, that could be helpful!
If your child didn't get their picture taken at all, please let the teacher know that he/she needs to be sent over to the photographer.  To place an order, pick up an order envelope in the school office or go to (top right, "Orders-PreOrders tab).  Please order from the Cottage Hill Make Up Gallery, not the original day.  Place your order within one week of make up day to avoid potential shipping charges.
All 4 Year Olds in the Preschool will be taken over for pictures.
Fall Family Fun Night needs CANDY! Cottage Hill Elementary School's safe trick-or-treating happens with the generous candy donations of our families. Starting Monday October 15th, please send in sealed candy to your students classroom. The class that contributes the most pounds of candy will win a pizza party for their class. We thank you in advance for making this another great Fall Family Fun Night on October 19th from 5:30-8:00pm at Cottage Hill Elementary School.
