The students and staff at Cottage Hill have had a fantastic time this week experiencing physical fitness and inspiration from Sami Kader. Sami will return to campus for a special evening session with families on Feb. 19th from 6-7pm.  This event is free to families, paid for by your Jog-A-Thon and Mistletoe Mall contributions.

Are you interested in learning more about the group that organizes the fundraising efforts and makes the decisions as to where money is spent? Please come to the next Parent Teacher Club meeting next Wednesday, Feb. 12th at 12:30pm in Room 17.  It's not too late in the year to come and learn about the ongoing committees that run all the enrichment that happens at Cottage Hill.  We will discuss more assemblies, yes more assemblies, and the upcoming Teacher Appreciation week as well as positions for next year.  Please join us!
SAMI'S CIRCUIT IS TOMORROW!!

Wear your sneakers and comfy clothes, we're going to be ACTIVE tomorrow!

We hope all families will join us for the Sami Circuit Family Night on February 19th from 6-7 pm.
Intent to Return forms are coming home in this week's Thursday folder.  We need to know what your plans are for next year...  are you coming back to Cottage Hill or going elsewhere?  If you are not sure, please mark that you are coming back so we save you a spot!  We use this information to make decisions about how many teachers we need, and in what grade levels.  There is a place for 5th graders to mark that they are going to Magnolia.  Please mark your forms and return to school ASAP.  Thank you!

OMG, our Lost and Found is OVER FLOWING!!!  Please, please stop by and check the courtyard for missing items.  There are dozens of warm coats that are sure to be missed...  At the end of the month we will be donating all items to a charity.
Sami will be here Monday!!  We are looking forward to this super positive, high energy, assembly with Sami Kader.  We will start the assemblies first thing in the morning, don't be late...  you won't want to miss this!

Parents: Curious what all the hype is about?  Come on in!  You are welcome to sit at the tables in the back of the MPR for this assembly. K-2 is from 8:30-9:15, 3-5 is from 9:30-10:15.  Then come back on Family Night, February 19th.  You can get more information about this popular motivational speaker at samikader.com

This Winter and Spring will be very exciting and entertaining for students at Cottage Hill. The PTC has arranged for a handful of special guests to perform on campus for the pleasure of the staff and students.  First up is Izzi Tooinsky.  He performed storytelling and comedy along with juggling and other entertaining sights for preschool through second grades on Wednesday this week.  He will return tomorrow to delight the third through fifth grades.  Ask your student(s) about Izzi's funny stories and talents, he is truly mezmerizing to watch.  Coming to perform in February is Joe Gandelman, ventriloquist. These assemblies are paid for by money fundraised through Jog-A-Thon and Mistletoe Mall, thank you for your contribution!
Coming back to Cottage Hill next week on Monday, February 3rd, is SAMI KADER!  Sami brings us the Sami's Circuit program.  Monday he will do two assemblies for the students (and parents if you'd like to come!) at 8:30 and 9:30.  Sami speaks to the students about the power of self-respect, eating healthy, and exercising.  "Who you are is amazing right now!"

Sami will be back on on Thursday, February 6th for Sami's Circuit Day!  This is a wild day of bright lights and loud music and EXERCISE that the kids won't forget!  Be sure to ask them about it, because...

Sami returns on February 19th for SAMI'S FAMILY NIGHT from 6-7 pm.  This is a free event for your whole family to enjoy!

Sami is brought to you by our CH PTC because we loved him so much last year.  Don't miss this amazing event!  "You got this!"
This school year has presented several opportunities to exercise flexibility with scheduling and staff.  The PTC is no exception. As we bid a fond farewell to Mrs. Mitchell of WonderGround Science for the remainder of the school year (she has embarked on the final stage of her multiple-subject credential requirements), we excitedly anticipate the beginning of a new program at Cottage Hill School.  The PTC is proud to introduce Megan Schumacher as the “Rhythm, Movement, Performing Arts Instructor.”  Megan is a highly qualified specialist who will instruct and delight our students and staff with a variety of song, dance, and movement lessons at every grade level.  Once a month your student(s) will participate in a variety of activities designed to engage, encourage and educate their physical and sensory selves.  Program begins next week!  One of the most fortunate aspects of Megan’s presence on campus is that she is very familiar with many of the students, four of which are her own.  The PTC welcomes Mrs. Schumacher and wishes her joy and satisfaction in working with the kids for the remainder of the school year!
It's such a fantastic time to be a Cottage Hill Cub Love and generosity were abounding in the front office of our school.  “The Joy of Giving Tree" was a phenomenal success! The PTC thanks every individual who took the time and care to sponsor a student or family, shop and beautifully wrap their gifts Twenty Cottage Hill students and their families had BIG smiles on their faces and hearts thanks to you. Wishing you all a very Happy New Year!
Happy New Year Cottage Hill families!  Welcome back to school.  The Parent Teacher Club will meet next Wednesday, January 15th at 12:30pm in room 17.  As usual we have so much to discuss: the success of Mistletoe Mall, MTM Pancake Breakfast and “The Giving Tree” program, voting will take place for exciting upcoming events on campus, final details of the “Souper Luncheon,” as well as upcoming spring events (Teacher Appreciation Week, Art Wear fundraiser).  Stay tuned for a VERY important announcement for the students and staff at Cottage Hill to be announced shortly.  SO MUCH GOOD STUFF!  Come join us!
