THE BAND SCHEDULE CHANGES AFTER WINTER BREAK!

Beginning January 7th, the Band Schedule will be as follows:

Monday:  Woodwinds
Tuesday: All Band
Wednesday: Brass
Thursday: All Band
Friday: No Band

The Winter Concert will be January 23rd.
Cottage Hill School is looking for a person, or more than one person, interested in being a noon duty aide!  This position is from 11:35-12:20 each day (45 minutes).  If you volunteer in the classroom on a regular day each week and would be interested in staying through the lunch period, this could be the perfect job for you! The pay is $13.00/hour.  I would be happy to hire one person all five days per week, or a different person each day of the week.  Does this sound interesting to you?  Call Mrs. Montero!
This Friday will be the last day for our amazing Ms. Hioki!  She is taking a leave of absence in order to finish her degree in School Counseling.  Ms. Hioki will be doing an internship in Grass Valley.  She will be back in June to say goodbye to all her kiddos for the summer.

After Winter Break, Mrs. Hahn will be taking over the Kindness Crew duties in the mornings, four days per week.  So your children will still get to participate in all their kindness activities, and she will be available to work with students during the day.

Good luck and best wishes to Ms. Hioki!  You are an important part of Cottage Hill and we will miss you!
This Friday, December 20th, is a MINIMUM DAY for students.  School is dismissed at 12:00.  There WILL BE after school rec on Friday.

Winter Break is December 23 to January 3, then January 6 is a PD day.  School will resume on Tuesday, January 7.
The weather may have turned chilly and damp, but there is plenty of fun in the school garden to be had.  Led by Anna Mudd (Sierra Harvest Liaison), Mrs. Toft’s 3rd grade class helped construct an open-air compost bin by up cycling wood palates and explored rich compost soil(worms!) last week. The Sierra Harvest program is paid for with money generously provided by parents from the Jog-A-Thon.  Your money at work!
Mistletoe Mall is Open is students are shopping! What an amazing selection of gift there are this year!
Please don't forget to send your student in with their envelope and shopping money on their shopping day.

If you can volunteer to help, there are still slots open:

Box Tops are going digital! Please try out the new and easy way to redeem Box Top cash for our school.
1. Install the “Box Tops” app on your phone or device. 2. Snap and scan a pic of your grocery receipt within 14 days of purchase (it takes 3 seconds to process). 3. Cut-out physical Box Tops from participating product boxes and labels and turn them in to your student(s) teacher.
Will the school still collect physically cut-out Box Tops? ABSOLUTELY!!!! While the Box Top company transitions from physical to digital redemption over the next year you can “double dip!” Digital Box Tops go to a general Cottage Hill fund and physical Box Tops will be collected and awarded to the individual teachers they are handed in to, as per our current system. Mrs. Bayne’s classroom won the October/Fall Box Top collection drive. The second/final drive will take place this spring.

Happy holidays from your Cottage Hill Parent Teacher Club.
Cookie Dough/Wrapping Paper products will be delivered on Thursday, December 5th.  If your child's order is small enough to fit in the backpack, it will be sent home with them that day.  If the order is large (or your child is small!) you will need to pick up the order in the MPR that afternoon.  Mrs. Ferrero will be in the MPR after school until 5:30 for those families in After School Rec.  We do not have freezer space to store the cookie dough overnight, so please plan to pick up your orders that day.  Thank you for supporting this Student Council fund raiser!
